Zynthian is an Open Synth Platform MIDI synthesizer based on the Raspberry Pi, Linux (Raspbian). It is fully open source (hardware and software). It is inexpensive (about $100 - bare-bones DIY to $350 - all options, ready-to-use) and supports a wide variety of popular Linux audio synthesis tools and plugins.
