Each sequence may have one or more tracks and each track may be assigned to any of the 16 MIDI channels. By default each sequence has a single track. The ZynPad menu allows setting of the MIDI channel of the first track of the highlighted sequence. (This also sets the sequence's group.)

If there is a Zynthian layer associated with the MIDI channel then the preset's name is displayed in the topbar as MIDI channel is selected.
